An agent was assigned to a surveillance project in a
building located on a busy street in Ortigas Center. Since the subject got lost
in their sight during the operation, his co-agents had to part ways so they
could perform spot checking at the different lead areas. She, on the other
hand, was left behind. Remaining where she was, she waited for the subject as he
assumed that he would possibly return at any time.
And she was right. Just a few hours of stakeout, he saw
the subjectswiftly boarded his car and drove along Meralco Avenue. Left without
a service vehicle, he resorted to hailing a taxi so he could follow the
subject. She was determined not to let it get lost yet unfortunately, no taxi
was available at that time. Good thing, the subject was not able to drive fast
because traffic that was getting heavier. This enabled him to follow the car
just by running. So her ran after the car and was only able to get a taxi upon
reaching Ortigas Avenue.
Now riding the taxi, he ordered the driver to follow the
car. And since he was aware that the driver might find it weird, he claimed as
the brother-in-law of the subject. Obviously full of doubts, the driver began
asking question as he did what I told him to. His questions were probably to
test if he was really the brother in law of the one they were following.
Prepared and well-oriented about the cover story, the
agent was able to win the driver’s trust by answering all the curious driver’s
questions in a very convincing manner. So now without a doubt, the driver
cooperated, the agent was able to follow the subject and the mission was
accomplished.
